I am following your instructions which I am hoping will save me £72. Unfortunately my DIY skills are less Daddy Pig and more George!

Have I understood correctly:
1. the good end of the original wire is the longer of the two pieces and is attached to the catch
2. you connected this to the new wire using the connectors (how many did you use?)
3. you don't need the bespoke end piece to connect to the handle you just use the one on the
new wire?
4. Did you have to remove the old wire from the catch to make the connection?

Afterwards, that he might be all his lifetime a good rider, they made to him a fair great horse of wood, which he did make leap, curvet, jerk out behind, and skip forward, all at a time: to pace, trot, rack, gallop, amble, to play the hobby, the hackney-gelding: go the gait of the camel, and of the wild ass. He made him also change his colour of hair, as the monks of Coultibo (according to the variety of their holidays) use to do their clothes, from bay brown, to sorrel, dapple-grey, mouse-dun, deer-colour, roan, cow-colour, gingioline, skewed colour, piebald, and the colour of the savage elk.

Brilliant advice- thanks. I managed to mend my mothercare mychoice with the same kit ( it's the same handle essentially).

A couple of bits of advice from my experience-

- don't overtighten the cable. I did so by about 3mm on each cable in the thinking that it would make it more resilient, but it occasionally pops out of the slots when pushing uphill. I'll have a go at loosening it slightly soon.
- it helps to have a someone there to help prise the caps off the end of the handle once it's removed.
- to put the 'new' cable end into the plastic holding the handle can be very fiddly. You can give more cable by pressing in the metal tabs at the bottom of the handle (a colleague or a vice will do). Once seated, the new ends can be pressed in gently using pliers.

Hope it helps!

Hi there im really struggling to unscrew the cover on the handle bar to get to the cables, what screwdriver did u use i have tryed about 30 different attachments and sizes. Thanks

So, a couple of years on I'm reading this and have just got back from wilkinsons and b&q having bought all the stuff.
How did your repair stand up against the test of time? Were the crimps sufficient or did they pop off every so often?

Hi, I have just read about your experience and as you can imagine, I am also with the same problem you've been through.

I just wanted to say Well Done, for sending the link to Beck Smith!!! I am your biggest fan now!!!!
